AN OASIS

An Oasis

I may be living in an oasis,
Where the sun shines on a daily basis.
Florida has beautiful flowers and beaches,
But what it may be hiding are deadly leeches.
Dark shadows are following me right now.
I need to escape but I don’t know how.
I don’t want to end up like that dead woman.
I don’t even know if the shadows are human.

THE DEAD ARE COMING

THE DEAD ARE COMING

The dark woods keeps them hidden.

I know that I’m forbidden
From walking this way.
I must get away.

I hear them moving through the trees.
Let me get away from them please.
The footsteps are getting louder.
The moon is now high and rounder.

The end for me and the town is near.
A crystal ball I don’t need to peer.
My head bowed and on a bended knee.
And this will still not end well for me.

THE LIGHT

THE LIGHT

A distant light beckons to me.

It seems to be moving closer.
I can hear its moaning cry.
What can it be?
Come with me into the woods
And we will find out together.

THE DEAD GAME

Why do clowns appear
And then come so near?
In my nightmares they cavort
With one another for sport.

I’m afraid to lay my head down.
For I might see another clown.
With their evil grins.
And quivering chins.

The carnival they roam.
So I’m writing this tome.
To leave clues to my demise
If the clowns aren’t too nice.

In a town such as Oasis.
There are few friendly faces.
For the clowns haunt my nights.
And bring with them more frights.

END HOUSE AT OASIS

END HOUSE AT OASIS

The house waits for you.

It breathes.

It sits in the dark.

With its skeletons.

Its sad memories.

No one visits.

No one to fall victim.

Until the party.

The party that sets

into motion

a series of events.

Events that will bring

murder and revenge

to Oasis, Florida.

It sits.

It waits.

For you.

A PERFECT NIGHT

A nice night.

A perfect night for a walk.

The moon is shining.

The stars are twinkling.

The graveyard is eerie.

What?

There’s a mist weaving

through the graves.

A whistling sound in the air.

Followed by a cold wind.

What’s happening?

There are figures standing up.

They are rising from the graves.

And they all seem to be looking

at me.

Why?

They are now walking

toward me.

Time to end my walk.

They’ve surrounded me.

How did they move so fast?

They are transparent.

I can see through them.

A dark figure is standing

behind them.

A figure that isn’t transparent.

With a knife in his hand.

Time to run.

Too late.

A not so perfect night.

DARK OF NIGHT

A shadow appears in the distance.

It’s dark like the night.

Who is it?

It looks human.

It is coming closer.

Even the grass is

trembling in fear.

Should I hide?

Or should I run?

Too late.

It’s here.

And I’m not anymore.

Vampires and Humans- my favorite kinda story

By Jalpa Pandya “jae”on November 3, 2014

Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase

In some ways, The Dead Game reminded me of the Vampire Diaries. Personally, I really enjoy Vampire Diaries so I enjoyed this book. There are evil vampires, good vampires, human vampires, and humans. This story takes place in a small town and the main character, Linda, becomes suspicious that something doesn’t seem right. She and her friends end up in the End House, which is “haunted.” They are barely able to get out of there that night. Things really get crazy when their friends are missing, and dead bodies are found.
This is a fast moving story, with every page full of surprises. There are a lot of characters, but I have to admit that my favorite was Todd. He was very intriguing and luckily, he was a fierce protector of the main girl, Linda.
Todd and Linda’s relationship is a bit confusing, but the author has a nice epilogue at the end that gives the readers closure. The author also hints at a sequel, so I’m looking forward to see what happens next!

THE DEAD GAME — DAY 167

bats

Linda was hanging over the pool filled with alligators. Todd was faced with Maxell, a new creature intent on killing him and his friends. Todd wasn’t going to allow Maxell to kill his beloved, Linda.

Maxell spun around and gawked at Wolf. “How could you possibly be alive? You died in the alligator pool.”

“Who told you that, your grandmother? Do you believe your grandmother or your own father?”

“Are you trying to tell me that you’re my father? My father died when I was born,” Maxell said.

“No, I didn’t. I left your mother. She made up the whole story to hide the truth.”

     “Prove it!”

Wolf hesitated for a brief moment and then said, “Your mother has always been extremely organized and kept very strict schedules. She was dreadfully difficult to live with.”

“Yes! She was too strict! She never let me be me! I wanted to be free from her.”

“Be free now! Come with me! We could go away together and start a new life,” Wolf said, walking closer to her.

Maxell began to walk toward Wolf. Then Wolf disappeared, leaving Maxell standing alone in the middle of the alligator pool. She fell to her death, looking up at Todd, who smiled down at her.

Reece opened the glass dome right before she hit the water. She sizzled and burned from the dazzling sunlight—all the while knowing that she’d been tricked by an apparition created by a weak and spineless human vampire.

“Stupid, stupid vampire,” Mike said, shaking his head.
