DANCE IN THE WOODS

DANCE IN THE WOODS

Feel the wind in your hair.

Raise your arms in the air.

Sway in the dark.

Alone in the park.

Dance in the night.

It will give you light.

Dance with the moon.

The sun will rise soon.

Let loose, dance, sway, and bend.

Mother nature is your friend.

A SWIRL OF SMOKE

1 Swirl of smoke

Lost in a swirl of smoke

as it climbs the night sky.

It dances with the wind

as it reaches up high.

The smoke flickers and shakes

throughout its delicate journey.

Braced against any breath

from the nearby beings’ yearning.

It rises slowly.

Its arms reach up to the moon.

A cold wind wafts past.

It will be there all too soon.

THE SEA OF MANY COLORS

I drift alone in my boat

On the sea of many colors.

A mirror to the pastel sky,

To what resides so high.

The moon peeking from above,

Caressing me like a soft glove.

As I drift along in my boat

On the sea of many colors.

IT CALLS MY NAME

The moon’s calling my name.

Let it not be in vain.

I walk down the road.

My soul has been sold.

I know my life is now over

Even as I clasp the clover.

Once darkness comes to its feet,

My happy life will be beat.

It came out of the blue,

This offer to spare you.

I could do no more or less.

I love you; I must confess.

I’ll happily go to the dark side

As long as the demons abide.

Think of me; I don’t want to boast

As the one who loved you most.

WHAT IF

sun exploding

WHAT IF

What if the sun exploded?

The day began as all others.
The sun rose and shined its light.
As the day wore on, the sun grew hotter.
Steamier.
It radiated shades of red and orange.
Heat slew off its sides.
Until it exploded.
Hot balls of fire crashed to earth.
Darkness soon fell across the globe.

The moon hid its face.
It wasn’t ready to rule.
Who would save the earth,
Warm the earth,
And provide the needed sunshine?
The moon stepped forward.
It puffed up its face,
Then it blew out hot steam.

“You’re hired,” mankind shouted.
The moon replaced the sun.
Twenty four hours a day.
No time off.
No rest for the weary moon.
But a lot of grumbling.

So we ask: What if the sun exploded?
We would be in trouble.
Stuck with the moon for sunshine.
Sun, we bow to you in gratitude
For all that you do for us.

ENERGY OF LIGHT

Light in forest

ENERGY OF LIGHT

Light the night sky with your energy.

Waves of light to shock our senses.

Sizzling sounds to move our souls.

Darkness yearns to blacken the sky.

But the streaks of light persevere.

The moon lifts its face with a grin.

Thunder will be riding soon on its horse.

Mother Nature never misses a beat.

The light forewarns us of the coming storm.

THE TREE

1 The Tree

The tree spreads its limbs wide
to absorb the light of the sun.
Its leaves glow in the waning afternoon light.
Soon the sun will leave yellow trails
around the tree’s massive trunk
as it sets for the day.
The shadows grow longer.
The colors become dimmer.
The sun bows its head goodbye.
Looming shadows signal the next stage.
The glow of the moon takes centerstage.
The tree spreads its limbs wide
to absorb the light of the rising moon.

MIDNIGHT BLUE

THE DEAD GAME
A midnight so dark and blue.
It’s coming for me and you.
The tides are rising to a new height,
While fighting the shore with all its might.
The clear skies are dark blue.
The clouds are far and few.
The darkness brings us shadows and...

A midnight so dark and blue.
It’s coming for me and you.
The tides are rising to a new height,
While fighting the shore with all its might.

The clear skies are dark blue.
The clouds are far and few.
The darkness brings us shadows and fears,
And people running away in tears.

Who is able to control the moon?
I’m afraid they’ll be here all too soon.
Dark shadows are descending on the shore.
They’re many but soon there will be much more.

I’ve heard about The Dead.
They fill my heart with dread.
It’s time to hide from death.
No time to take a breath.

THE DEAD GAME

MOON SHADOW

My favorite poem. I had to share it again.

MOON SHADOW
I live in the shadow of the moon.
I have grown and sprouted much too soon.
I will try with all my might
To live in the bright sunlight.
I close my eyes but yet I’m still here.
Sitting on a branch next to a pear.
My petals are white as snow
Because of this fact I know.
I will never be awake at day
No matter how hard I wish and pray.
For I live in the shadow of the moon
And I’m slated to sing the nightly tune.
