THE CRIMSON REFLECTION

Source:travel-story

The sky dips into its bag of tricks

to bring forth a full moon,

as its crimson reflection

mars the ocean’s smooth surface.

From the water’s murky depths,

dark creatures rise this night.

Onto our crisp white shores, they walk,

leaving bloody footprints in the sand,

painting our town crimson,

beneath the blood-red moon.

MEET ME IN MAINE

Elizabeth and Scarlett travel to Blue Harbor, Maine, hoping to buy a bed-and-breakfast. On their first evening in the picturesque town, they visit the local ice cream parlor. As the charming owner introduces himself, a man rushes through the doorway, clutching his throat and dying in a pool of blood.

The Chief of Police questions them. David and Logan, the handsome men they met earlier in the day, join him in the interrogation. Elizabeth regrets agreeing to a date with the dashing, blue-eyed David. She can’t wait to pack her bags and leave Blue Harbor. Scarlett insists they keep their appointment at the quaint bed-and-breakfast. After the tour, she then encourages Elizabeth to sign the papers.

Elizabeth and Scarlett move into the inn and meet the residents. They hear of the curse placed by the Penobscot Indians on the original settlers of Blue Harbor and their descendants. The curse returned that year when an entire block sank into the ground, including the buildings and people. Their fears mount as an intruder breaks into the inn. At Scarlett’s date with Jonathan, the ice cream parlor’s owner, a women’s head explodes at a nearby table. Then a suspicious explosion rocks the harbor, destroying boats and part of the dock.

Once becoming involved with the town’s descendants, have Elizabeth and Scarlett placed their lives in jeopardy? Should they sell the inn and flee Blue Harbor, or stay and fight the curse alongside David, Logan, and Jonathan?

WHO GOES THERE?

Source:oxxxxxb

Into the woods, I flee,

yearning to be set free.

I don’t know which way to go.

I turn around, to and fro.

A light shines between the trees.

I peek between the thick leaves.

No one is on the path.

I can do simple math.

It’s them against me.

I’ll never be free.

COLOR MY WORLD

Source:frenzyy

Color my world in shades of pink,

so long as I don’t have to think.

Brush more color in strokes of blue,

so I don’t have to think of you.

Add a mist of dark green

until I’m ready to scream.

Throw more colors at me,

but I know what I’ll see.

A world faded to black

until I get you back.

A THANKSGIVING SPIN

A THANKSGIVING SPIN

Sweet and tasty it may be.

It does not come for free.

Life was given up

For this group to sup.

What are your holiday wishes?

And what could be the side dishes?

Some sliced fingers on a crystal plate

May satisfy your cravings of late.

Enjoy.

PLAY ME A SONG

Source:randomthoughtsforabeautifulgirl

Play me a love song.

Rhyme me a sad tale.

The woe of heartbroken lovers

whose tinny cries take to the air.

The needle rides the grooves.

Around in a circle, it goes.

No beginning or end.

Like a tear that won’t fall.

A sad song with no end

that echoes for eternity.

AN ISLAND ESCAPE

An Island Escape

Take me from a world without color,
where life can be dull and grey.
I want to swim through the ocean’s waves,
where rainbows frolic and play.

The sun’s rays shimmer on the water,
leaving trails of gold, yellow, and red.
Beacons of light for me to follow,
to a new land where to lay my head
.

Who lives on this small island?
It’s time for me to explore.
I see a hut of branches.
I must see if there is more
.

I walk across the pale pink sand
to the small hut and step inside.
The room is dark, without windows.
I check to see what it may hide.

A man saunters into the room.
At the table, places are set.
He turns to me with a huge grin,
as if I am his new prized pet
.

He makes an abrupt movement
and strides across the dark room.
He kisses me with cold passion
under the blood-red moon.

I swam across the ocean

to find a new shore.

But here I am again

in his arms once more.
