Profile

I have always loved to read books. My goal has been to write a book different than any other book that I’ve ever read. And I believe I have accomplished this goal. The Dead Game is a supernatural thriller with plenty of mystery and romance.
The once peaceful town of Oasis becomes a haven for murder. Dead bodies are found on the beach. Tourists disappear from the hotel–never to be heard from again. Once the sun sets, dark shadows can be seen roaming the streets of town. With two of their own missing, Linda and her friends must locate THE DEAD and determine whether their members are humans or creatures of the night.

  1. Hi Susanne! I’ve never left a comment yet, but I want you to know that I think your take on this is unique. Be true to yourself. Never settle. Keep up the writing.

I don’t know if you know it, but your profile pic is a little blurry. It may be by design (I’ve had a few crazy peeps in my day, believe me!), but I think people are a little confused because they want to see you. Please don’t take that as mean or a criticism (I’ve got a background in that! My job.). I just want people to see you (or not), whatever you decide.

    Cheers, D

    • Thanks for your comment and following my writing. I don’t usually get comments but just pictures of followers.
As for my picture, it is the one I have on my computer. It is from my daughter’s wedding. I have it on Facebook and Blogspot and it isn’t blurry there. I have to upload another picture. My blog is: susanneleist.blogspot.com if you want to check it out.
      Keep in touch,

  6. Thank you for the follow Susanne. I appreciate it. You seem to have read a post that might not lead you to believe we have so much in common. I do love to write from the shadows and the darker side quite a bit. Both in poetry and a bit of flash fiction. the line you wrote in one of your poems, “Light the candle
and see where it leads you.
Will it take you out of the darkness,
or lead you further into it”
I showed that to a friend and they thought it was me. So I ask you if you find the time to drop by and read things such as “The girl in the window” and “Bloody Mary” short flash fiction and darker poetry is a really fun thing to me. Drop in any time and I look forward to sharing the shadows with you. Be well and keep inspiring

    • I will definitely read your other works. I can’t thank you enough for your wonderful words about my post. Usually when authors quote me, they take my words out of context to criticize my book. A new author could use all the accolades she can get.
Thanks again and keep in touch,
      Susanne

  7. Hi Susanne,
I’m back again to ask if I may nominate you for the Writing Process Blog Tour. I have been asked to write a post, & to do so I need to nominate three writers (& then answer three/four questions about my writing).
As you are one of the first writers I followed on this blog, & one that I still enjoy to read, I was hoping that you might say yes. If you do not wish to write the post, I will still include a link to your blog on mine as I do enjoy your work a lot & would like to help you spread it (I recently purchased The Dead Game so that I can read it once my exams are over!).
    Best wishes,
    Bethanie

    • Thank you for the award. I’ve gotten behind in my award presentations. It’s hard to blog, tweet, google, and facebook promotions and also leave time for writing my next book. I’m happy to accept your award and I will present it in the coming weeks.

    • Hi, I just found your comment. I’m sorry I didn’t respond sooner. I had been asked to do a few awards but I fell behind. Promoting my book on social sites have taken up so much of my time when I should be writing the next book in the series. Keep in touch.

    • Thanks so much for your ideas. I’m going to use your services for my second book in the series. I’m in the middle of writing it. I had re-edited my first book according to my reviews. The publisher had edited it but it needed more polishing. I’m going to use all what I’ve learned in book 2. I’m going to stay off Goodreads. They all say the same thing but with hostility. The one star review I received last week was blacklisted by the group. She only read 20 pages and trashed it. Besides Goodreads’ reviews, my other reviewers have given me good advice.

  15. Susanne, I bought the Dead Game!!!!!! I will read it over the next few days and let you know what I think. I appreciate so much you take the time to read my short stories. It is the absolute least I could do!!!!! Big hug.

    • Thank you! I hope you like it. I’ve learned a lot from writing it and from its reviews. I believe my writing has improved over the past three years since it was published. I’m in the middle of book 2, buried in outlines, plots, character arcs, subplots and so on. Hopefully, it will be meaner and leaner than book 1.
