TAKE THE ROAD TO OASIS

Oasis hotel

Take the road to the Oasis Hotel.
Lined with trees
shedding their pink petals.
A bright and sunny road.
Filled with wishes and dreams.
No worries or despairs.

A road in Oasis, Florida.
At its end stands the hotel.
Waiting with open arms.
A garden of colorful flowers
spelling out its name.
Its white walls and high archways
invite ocean breezes.
Tourists lounge on its many couches.
“Drinks for one and all,”
call out the waiters.
Drinks with fancy umbrellas.
No worries or despairs
for these guests.

That is until night falls.
Then all must retreat for safety.
Dark shadows appear on the streets
and on the white-sand beach.
No one ventures out at night.
Except for The Dead.
They own the night.
They own Oasis.
No worries or despairs
for those who take care.
Death for those who do not.

We all have a dream or oasis in our hearts. But nothing is ever perfect.
