A PERFECT OASIS

A perfect oasis where dreams come true.

Palm trees wave their arms in the warm breeze.

Birds sing a happy tune above the blue.

Until the night exhales its cold breath.

Torrents of wind dig through the white sand.

Where dark shadows leave no footprints.

And tourists remain innocent no more.

HAMMOCK

No automatic alt text available.

Calming blue waters.

Soft white sand.

Reclining on a hammock.

Enjoying the sunshine.

The bright blue sky.

The quiet.

Until—

Darkness descends upon us.

The trade winds turn violent.

Sand flies in our faces.

Rooftops fly above our heads.

We make a mad dash to town.

The sun hides her face.

Lightning joins the winds.

Where to hide?

The Town Hall waits.

Its front door stands open.

Inside is dark and quiet.

What awaits us now?

Windows shatter.

Shrieks fill the rooms.

Shadows fly by the tall windows.

We’re doomed.

CHANTING IN THE BREEZE

Chanting could be heard in the warm breeze. A breeze that blows in from the ocean and smooths the white sand. A breeze that feels like the soft flutter of a rose petal against your skin. Where is the chanting coming from? Who is doing the chanting? What do we only hear it at night? Are spells being cast in Oasis? Only The Dead know and they’re not talking. A breeze blows from the ocean.

One that smooths the white sand.

Feeling like the soft flutter of

a rose petal against your skin.

The sea breeze carries chanting.

Why do we hear it at night?

Are spells being cast in Oasis?

Only The Dead know and they’re not talking.

CLOSER TO THE BLUE

I sink deeper with each footstep,
Bringing me closer to the blue.
The blue green water sways
Beneath a blue sky so true.

A fantasy worth remembering.
A dream worth keeping.
Take me back to the shore,
I long for so much more.

My world is so bleak.
I can’t get to sleep.
I gaze at the soulless streets
And never fall asleep.

If I close my eyes tight,
I might see my paradise this night.
It will take me back to times
When everything was so fine.

A DAY IN OASIS, FLORIDA

A sea breeze to soothe my aching soul.

Palm trees to fan my hot body.

Cold water caressing my toes.

White sand flowing through my fingers.

A day in Oasis, Florida.

A day at the beach.
