RED LACE

MURDERS AND LOVERS

Read a book by the warm fire.

Moments can’t get any brighter.

Let the snow fall outside.

I will keep warm inside.

No need to fight the drifts.

I’ll stay with the misfits.

The ones who prefer books

that grab you with their hooks.

The fire is getting low.

The winds are about to blow.

I snuggled further beneath the covers

as I read about murders and lovers.

BEND TO THE WIND

Source:

The trees bend to the wind.

Lightning flashes across the sky.

The rain drenches the town.

I’m safe and warm inside.

Nothing can reach me.

The storm ravages the land.

And I watch from my window.

I can’t be touched

Until…

RED LACE

I will lay down my head to sleep
Beneath a canopy so deep.
Soft leaves curl around my face,
Covering me in red lace.
Sticks of trees protect my sides.
Perfect place for one who hides.
The sun peeks in between the red,
Warmth of sunshine on my head.

A SPECIES APART

Love in unusual places.

Friends having different faces.

A species apart.

Right from my cold heart.

We’ll be warm in the snow.

I should just let you know.

I love your green eyes.

I hate long goodbyes.

Stay here with me tonight.

I’ll keep you close and tight.

Is that a meow you say?

I saved a spot in the hay.

CAN’T TOUCH ME
