A KEYHOLE

A thin strip of light

Filtered by our minds.

Permission granted by our eyes

To selected sights and sounds.

A narrow keyhole to the universe.

BLUE

BLUE HAZE

Feelings of softest blue.

This is how I see you.

Through a film of ice,

You appear so nice.

A reflection it is

That I can never miss.

As leaves float high,

I peer up at the sky

I still see your face

In every place.

I can feel your hot gaze

Even in this haze.

Please come back to me,

And we can float free.

DARK AND COLD DAY

whatzyourfantazy:
“ ENERGY
”
The green waves grow in force.
Digging in to the shore.
Wolf rides in on a horse.
Leaving me wanting more.
I open my eyes.
I’m in my own bed.
I can hear soft sighs.
From inside my head.
‘Only a dream,’ I say.
Wolf will...

He will make us all pay.

He’ll come for me today.

On this dark and cold day.

SEE ME

SEE ME
See me.
Rays of light.
Feel me.
Waves of heat.
Touch me.
Enter the void.
Travel with me.
To places unexplored.
Flashes of lights.
Explosions in space.
Welcome to the unknown.
Welcome to my mind.

PINK SEA

I gaze at the pink sea so pure,
A vision of delight for sure.
The sun is setting down,
But there’s no reason to frown.
I could see the ocean floor.
Look at me I’m out the door.
The sun may be gone for the day.
The moon will soon be here to play.

A VISION

A VISION

The bookstore is dark.

I turn on the lights.

Rows of bookcases loom tall.

I open the curtains.

The Florida sun flows in through picture windows.

Bright squares fall across the floor.

The perfect spot for comfy couches and chairs.

A counter with stools to the right,

where I would serve coffee and pastries.

Book stacks to the left.

Yes, it’s all coming alive to me.

A bookstore/ coffee shop

in the seaside town of Oasis.

Little did I know of the otherworldly plans

taking place at the same time as mine.

Plans that are in no way

as peaceful and innocent as mine.

ONE WITH HUMANITY

Compassion can be felt.
Nature responds to it.
Animals sense it.
It draws people to you,
like a moth to a flame.
It’s responsible for miracles.
It shows mercy without bias.
It should be shared with all.
No matter the color, species,
or race.
For we are one.
One with nature.
One with the universe.
One with humanity.

ALONE IN THE DARK

ALONE IN THE DARK

“I sit alone by the table.
I hear voices around me.
Sounds of movement.
Sounds of life.

I reach out.
I can feel the smoothness.
A plate.
A meal.

Smells waft by my nose.
Aromas of chicken.
Sweet smells of  pudding.
Smells of life.

What color is the food?
Is the sun shining in?
Are the faces around me young or old?
So many questions.

Questions I can’t answer.
I can never answer.
For I am blind,
Have been blind for years.”

The anguish my mother had faced
For most of her life.
Her sight stolen from her
At a young age.
Loss of sight.
Loss of colors.
Loss of faces.
Loss of memories.
