DREAM ON

DREAM A LITTLE DREAM
Dream a little dream.
An orange sun
Setting over the ocean.
A jagged cliff
Showcasing a lighthouse.
A light casting its glow,
While waiting for a ship.
Waves lapping at the rocks,
Trying to climb the steep fortress.

DREAM A LITTLE DREAM

Dream a little dream.
An orange sun
Setting over the ocean.
A jagged cliff
Showcasing a lighthouse.
A light casting its glow,
While waiting for a ship.
Waves lapping at the rocks,
Trying to climb the steep fortress.
Clouds rolling in over the mountain,
Attempting to hide the light.
The red ball slowly falling,
Losing some of its fire.
A ship appearing in the distance,
Seeking the lone light.
The light blinking in sequence,
A lighthouse’s signal.
Dream on.

Cape Cod July 2013_-60 (by jackfrench)

Sunset brings the night,

With it dark shadows.

Hues of red fill the humid air,

Followed by high-pitched howls.

Residents hide behind locked doors,

As tourists huddle in their hotel.

The town waits deserted and quiet,

While the dark forest rumbles with music.

Dignitaries fly in from around the world,

Their limousines line the wooded paths.

Guests mingle and laugh in the glass house,

Where lifelike glass statues watch them.

Beneath it all lies an undercurrent.

One of evil and despair.

As I walk slowly in a daze,

Surround me in a purple haze.

I could fall asleep in this tent,

The smell alone is heaven sent.

The scent of lilac is filling my head,

I need to find an appropriate bed.

I will just sit on this bench in the sun

And enjoy the lights of the setting sun.

THE MOON’S TURN

The sun sets in fire,

Leaving for the day.

Hiding its bright face,

Refusing to stay.

It is the moon’s turn

To bring night to day.

Its white face a grin

As it wants to play.

Stars twinkle and glow

To brighten the sky.

The moon moves away,

Climbing way up high.

BLOOD RED

BLOOD RED

The wavering reflections of the red sky

mar the blue surface of the ocean.

The sun sets for the night,

hiding its face behind puffy clouds.

The sky reaches into its bag of tricks,

bringing out a yellow moon.

The water remains blood red

as the sky turns inky black.

A reflection from its depths

of the evil creatures rising.

Onto our crisp white shores they walk,

Leaving bloody footprints in the sand.

A GLIMPSE OF HEAVEN

Alone with nature.

A feeling like no other.

A sky filled with birds.

Purple with the fading sun.

Sea breezes wrap around me.

Cocooning me in their mist.

Life stands still for this picture.

A glimpse of heaven from above.

I WAIT IN SILENCE

I wait for darkness.

When The Dead walk.

They rise from hiding.

They walk the nights.

And free The Dead souls.

I wait in silence.

Patiently.

The sun sets.

The moon rises.

And I wait.
