A QUIET SPOT

In a quiet spot.

On a soft chair.

In the sun’s spotlight.

I will read a book.

Eyes wide open.

Mind set to explore.

Sunlight streaming in.

I will read a book.

Hands trembling.

Tears falling.

Sun warming my body.

I will read a book.

BLANKET OF FLOWERS

Take me to the light that shines bright

in the far reaches of the deep forest.

I want to bask in its heavenly glow

until the moon raises its spotlight.

Let the leaves tickle my hot skin

as I lie down on a sheet of grass.

Cover with me with a blanket of flowers

as bright as the rainbow overhead.

Sleep follows me to my private spot,

where animals frolic in freedom.

I’m floating in the sky above the branches,

looking down at my sleeping form.

Contentment relaxes my face

as my eyelids twitch in tune with my dreams.

Too soon the night will come,

bringing with it the dark and cold.

I must come back on the morrow

to finish the dreams I have just begun.

BANISH THE CLOUDS

Hold clouds in your hand,
Banish them for good.
Allow the sun in,
Just the way it should.

Throw out evil thoughts,
Only light inside.
Open your closed heart
And walk free with pride.

A romp in the grass,
Where flowers grow wild.
Accept the sun’s love,
Like your only child.

Stay away dark moon,
Night is for the sun.
Darkness held at bay,
As we dance for fun.

MOON SHADOW — April 2, 2015

I live in the shadow of the moon.
I have grown and sprouted much too soon.
I will try with all my might
To live in the bright sunlight.

I close my eyes but yet I’m still here.
Sitting on a branch next to a pear.
My petals are white as snow
Because of this fact I know.

I will never be awake at day
No matter how hard I wish and pray.
For I live in the shadow of the moon
And I’m slated to sing the nightly tune.

MOONSHADOW

MOONSHADOW

I live in the shadow of the moon.
I have grown and sprouted much too soon.
I will try with all my might
To live in the bright sunlight.

I close my eyes but yet I’m still here.
Sitting on a branch next to a pear.
My petals are white as snow
Because of this fact I know.

I will never be awake at day
No matter how hard I wish and pray.
For I live in the shadow of the moon
And I’m slated to sing the nightly tune.

FAREWELL

The sun bids me adieu.
After the day is through.
I will say my farewell
To the last rays as well.

The moon will bring darkness
For which I’ve no fondness.
I will be by myself.
All alone on this shelf.

I will patiently wait here
For the next day to appear.
After the moon has its fun,
It will be time for the sun.

WELCOME THE NIGHT

WELCOME THE NIGHT

Welcome the night
And its friend, the moon.
Don’t take flight
From the man in the moon.

Let the moon take over
From the sun’s bright reign.
Let the sun take cover
Without hesitation or pain.

A thick blanket will fall,
Covering the earth with security.
Darkness will cover all
With its grace and purity.

The stars will twinkle and shine.
For the sun, do not pine.
It will be back tomorrow morning
So no need for any worrying.
