I’ve fallen
to the depths
of my despair.
I must rest and
replenish my spirit,
revitalize my soul.
I will stand,
climb once more,
try to resume my life.
But first, I must sleep.
I walk in a field of Bluebonnets.
I thought to compose for them sonnets.
The sweet fragrance fills my soul
until I am again whole.
I feel tired as I smile
like I’ve walked a full mile.
I will make my bed
and lay down my head.
My thoughts drift so slow and low,
somewhere over the rainbow…
Banana Brain – Die Antwoord
Tea for two.
One for me.
One for you.
Mine is sweet.
Yours is not.
Some good sleep
from this old pot.

Wolni Lake in the North-West of Hamburg by Michi Lauke
An oasis for me
Under a purple tree.
Leaves fan my tired face
Far from the human race.
The view takes me away
Where the happy can play.
I close my heavy eyes
To shut out mankind’s lies.
As I walk slowly in a daze,
Surround me in a purple haze.
I could fall asleep in this tent,
The smell alone is heaven sent.
The scent of lilac is filling my head,
I need to find an appropriate bed.
I will just sit on this bench in the sun
And enjoy the lights of the setting sun.
I feel so cold.
Ice is forming on my arms.
What is happening to me?
Why are my leaves drying up?
Ouch.
A cold wind just hit me in the face.
I wish I could hide.
But I’m stuck in place.
Waiting.
And waiting.
I think I fell asleep.
For the sun is out.
My ice is melting.
The breeze is now warmer.
It’s brushing the snow
off my cold arms.
My arms feel less heavy.
Soon it will be spring.
Time for celebration.
I can’t wait to see my
green leaves again.
Birds will return to
sit on my arms.
They will build their nests.
Life will be good again.
Only a few short months left.
I will take another snooze.
See you in the spring.
Nordic landscape
A blanket of red
covers the landscape.
Fragrant and soft
as it protects and serves.
A place of comfort
and a place to sleep.
A keeper of memories
of the lost tower.
What was once a stronghold
is now a carpet of beauty.

Running sheep.
Good for sleep.
I will count them now.
And then take my bow.
For sleep will come soon.
I feel myself swoon.
