There’s beauty in the simple,

in the flow of a sweeping vine,

in the perfection of a rose.

Enough to brighten a day,

to fill you with its scent,

to entice you with its passion.

To leave you with serenity.

ROSE BUD

A BudA

A bud so sweet,

It can’t be beat.

Throwing off heat,

Enticing treat.

Its scent draws me near,

Still not feeling fear.

It soon becomes clear,

I shouldn’t be here.

The buzzing becomes loud,

Near my face big and round.

I quickly hit the ground,

Hoping I won’t be found.

The birds are chirping,

And I’m not hurting.

The sun is shining,

My bud is smiling.

ANOTHER NIGHT IN OASIS

Source:

Take a seat in the park.

Watch the world go by.

A shadow flits by.

More shadows to follow.

They converge on the gazebo.

A gazebo rimmed in roses.

Their heady fragrance sweeten the air.

The shadows take on forms.

Human forms in dark robes.

They circle the gazebo.

Chanting strange words.

A noose hangs inside.

Wrapped around a woman’s neck.

The robbed figures circle faster.

Winds follow in their wake.

Faster, faster, and faster they go.

Cries fill the night.

Then all is silent.

The gazebo is empty.

The figures are gone.

Another night in Oasis, Florida.
