THE LAST ONE

owl-517497_640

I search the night.

A lovely sight.

My wings are spread.

Don’t go to bed.

I see you scurry.

Don’t need to worry.

My talons reach for thee.

In the sky, you’ll soon be.

We’ll soar to my nest.

I will love you best.

I will be the last one you’ll see

before your eyes close for me.

THEY OWN THE NIGHT

Blue

Who dares to walk in the forest?

A forest tinged blue by the moon.

I sit each night, waiting.

Watching for intruders,

Who will soon fall victim to The Dead.

No one dares to challenge The Dead,

For they own the forest.

They own Oasis.

They own us.

They own the night.

Bark owl by Henrik Hugnell

Do you ever feel like this owl?

Blended into your environment so well

that people don’t notice you?

You might be talking

but no one is listening.

The owl wants to be invisible.

And sometimes I’m invisible too.

The house is deserted.

The warm wind blows the windows open.

The breeze ruffles the curtains and

lifts the sheets covering the abandoned furniture.

What happened to the last family living there?

They disappeared in the night,

never to be heard from again.

A stormy night that was filled with

dangerous lightning and thunder.

End House holds many secrets.

Should we venture inside to uncover

its secrets?

Or should we leave these secrets to

grow and fester, along with the other

secrets hidden in Oasis, Florida?

Carvalho beach (by N+T*)

A nice quiet place to perchance dream.

Lie in the soft sand,

Gaze up at the bright sun,

Feel the soft sand beneath my fingers.

Oh no!

My mind wakes up.

It starts churning with weird ideas.

Is there a shadow from someone

Hiding behind that rock?

Or are those footsteps I hear in the sand

Approaching me from behind?

How do we turn off our minds and relax?

I guess some people just can’t.
