No vampires in the hot sun.
It’s Florida’s playground for fun.
The nights are their chosen den.
Come and frolic in their playpen.
THE DEAD GAME
by Susanne Leist
Pink flowers to fill my day.
Petals fall in the soft light.
Ready to come out and play,
A soothing and pretty sight.
A shady path for dreams
For the hot days and warm nights.
Pink fills the lakes and streams,
A toast to spring’s delights.
Wherever you are,
Know that I’m with you.
My thoughts follow you.
I feel your pain
and relish in your joys.
I visit your dreams.
I’m beside you when you wake.
My spirit will keep you warm.
My arms will comfort you
in the dark days ahead.
Wherever you are,
I’ll be there.
Please don’t set.
Don’t remove your light.
Your warmth.
Your heat.
The nights are cold.
The shadows are long.
Don’t allow the moon its space.
It brings horror in its light.
Shadows in its path.
Please don’t leave me.

A LITTLE MAGIC
All we need is a little magic
to bring our fantasies to life.
A little fairy dust
to capture our hidden desires.
A little sprinkle of pink
to brighten our dreary days.
Puff.
You’re gone.
I’m in fantasy land.
THE GATES
The gates encircle the property,
Their sharp edges pointing to the sky.
They deter all visitors,
Keeping the evil inside.
The house holds many secrets,
Some strange and unbelievable.
Windows are eyes to the soul
And mirrors to the unknown.
End House has invited us,
Extending a fancy invitation.
Do we dare follow our curiosity,
Or listen to our pounding hearts?
We are here for the night.
Time will only tell.
Whether we make it to morning
In this unholy hell.
THE DEAD GAME
Time to party.
The Dead can dance.
They fill the nights
with fun and music.
Cold to the touch.
Empty to their souls.
Following to a beat of their own.
Heartbeats of the warmblooded.
