Welcome the night
And its good friend, the moon.
Do not take flight
From the man in the moon.
Let the moon take over
From the sun’s bright reign,
As the sun takes cover
Without feeling pain.
A thick blanket will fall,
Giving security.
Darkness will cover all,
With its fine purity.
For the sun, we need not pine.
Don’t waste time mourning.
After the stars twinkle and shine,
The sun rises each morning.

THE MAN IN THE MOON
Is there someone looking down
upon us from the stars above?
“Here’s looking at you,” the moon says.
“I just wanted a closer look.”
This is how my nightmares
usually begin…

“I’m here,” the moon grins.
“The fun is over.”

IS THERE SOMEONE LOOKING DOWN
UPON US FROM THE STARS ABOVE?
ARE WE ALONE IN THE UNIVERSE
OR ARE THERE OTHERS?
IT FEELS GOOD JUST TO IMAGINE
THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE.
DOES THE MAN IN THE MOON
SEE THIS?
IS SHE FLOATING IN SPACE
OR IN HER OWN ROOM?
OR MAYBE JUST IN HER IMAGINATION?
WHAT THE MAN IN THE MOON
THINKS WHEN HE LOOKS
DOWN UPON US.
