THE GAME

Come & play a game with me.

I’ll be fair as can be.

I will deal the card.

Do not think too hard.

The card is your task.

It might be your last.

Follow it to the letter.

This can’t get any better.

Pick a card now, please.

Get down on your knees.

Close your eyes very tight.

Go down without a fight.

Your chosen card tells you to laugh

As the saw slices you in–

THE WEEPING WOMAN

The lights turn on in the room so dark.

We came here for a dare and a lark.

The rooms are deserted and cold.

Ghosts would be present we were told.

All we see are dust and deserted rooms.

No one has lived here in so many moons.

The quiet is unnerving and thick.

Time for us to leave this scene real quick.

Something doesn’t feel right.

We must turn and take flight.

Before the noise from above

Thinks we are her lost love.

The weeping woman is coming near.

She dances and chuckles at our fear.

The doors and windows are locking.

Our escape the ghost is blocking.

THEY LAUGH

They laugh

from within the walls.

I can hear them

but not see them.

The door opens to their den,

in the dungeons below.

Can Wolf save them?

Does he even want to?

ARE WE ALONE?

silenceforthesoul: Carl Gustav Carus (1789-1869) - Faust’s Dream ARE WE ALONE?Are we truly alone?Friends and family. Are they with us?Beside us everyday?I can feel them.A thickness in the air.A soft touch.A slight breeze. Is my brother gone?Or is he with me?I believe he is.He chuckles at my blunders. He laughs at my jokes. He cries when I’m hurt.Yes, he is with me.Always.Forever.

Carl Gustav Carus (1789-1869) – Faust’s Dream

ARE WE ALONE?
Are we truly alone?
Friends and family.
Are they with us?
Beside us everyday?
I can feel them.
A thickness in the air.
A soft touch.
A slight breeze.
Is my brother gone?
Or is he with me?
I believe he is.
He chuckles at my blunders.
He laughs at my jokes.
He cries when I’m hurt.
Yes, he is with me.
Always.
Forever.

DANCE FOR ME

DANCE FOR ME

Elevate your body through the air.
Lift up your fins.
Your pointy face to the sky.
Dance for me.

Let the water flow down.
Back into the ocean.
But keep yourself high above all else.
Dance for me.

Give me your wicked smile.
A little laugh.
Show me your endless joy.
Dance for me.

I want to see your special dance.
A clap or two.
A little twist for me.
Dance for me.

WHAT DOES HAPPINESS LOOK LIKE?

WHAT DOES HAPPINESS LOOK LIKE?

I’ve never been a happy person.
More of a serious person.
So what does happiness look like?
Is it the smile on a mother’s face?
Is it the laughter of a toddler?
Is it the loving look of a lover?
Look around you.
Do people really look happy?
Or do they look preoccupied?
Maybe a little impatient or hurried?
Do people even look happy at a party?
Some may be smiling.
Some may be off to the side, watching.
If you supply some liquor,
Then you might see some happiness.
So who is happy?
My dog rubbing his back across the rug
Is the epitome of true happiness.
Animals have cornered the market on happiness.
They are content to be alive.
We should learn from them.

THERE

I want to be there.

Not here by my computer.

But there on the beach.

Walking on the sand.

Feeling the cold water

hit my toes.

The pounding surf

against my body.

Spray of salt water

on my face.

Soothing.

Refreshing.

Like a cocoon,

enveloping me,

comforting me.

I close my eyes

and feel a laugh

bubbling inside of me,

ready to take flight.

A laugh of delight

and freedom.

Come join me.

A fantasy can

be easily shared.

Who are we?

What are we?

What do our faces

reveal about ourselves?

If we smile, does that

mean we’re happy?

If we cry, are we really

that sad?

Do we exaggerate our feelings

for the better effect?

Yes, we all do.

Take a closer look at the next

person who laughs or cries

before a captive audience.

See if they are showing true emotions

or just emoting for the benefit of others.
