Shana broke up with the hybrid Sheriff and is now with William who she believes to be a full vampire. She remains conflicted throughout the novel. Who is the good guy and who isn’t. They are both in love with her thus she is safe with either of them.
This novel starts out fast and furious and remains so to the very end. Vampires are at war with each other–then there are the werewolves and even the Archangels get involved! And let’s not forget the humans!
To finally find out what is really going on and who Shana ends up with is why you will have to read this 3rd in the Dead Game series. Lots of twists and turns and even more action!

PREY FOR THE DEAD Blog Tour Starring Susanne Leist a #RRBC Member
———————————————————————————————————————-
This is the last day of my blog tour. I hope everyone enjoyed my poetry and excerpts of PREY FOR THE DEAD. I added snippets of my life even though I hate writing about myself. What else can I share? Writing began as a hobby. It’s become a profession—one that doesn’t earn much money. I can share my new hobby. Poetry.
Over the course of the past four years, I’ve written 558 poems. Don’t worry, I will share a few.
I have always loved to read. Agatha Christie, Alistair Maclean, Robert Ludlum, and many other authors filled my young imagination with intrigue and mystery. When I wasn’t reading late into the night, the TV shows—Murder She Wrote and Columbo—entertained me with tales of murder and suspense.
Over the years, my taste in TV expanded to include such shows as Supernatural and The Originals. I searched for paranormal, murder mysteries but found few at the library or bookstore. So, I wrote one.
A career in writing has been a big leap for me. Accustomed to the number-crunching field of budgeting and the hectic commodity markets, I left my first career and M.B.A. in Finance behind to pursue my dream. I do not regret my foray into literature for one moment. Fellow authors helped me make my way through the competitive field. I write every day and even tried my hand at poetry. If someone tells you it’s too late in life to try something different, they are wrong. It is never too late to follow your heart.
The Dead Game is the first book in The Dead Game series. It brings fantasy and the surreal to the classic murder mystery with dead bodies, suspects, and clues. It offers vampires, vampire derivatives, and a touch of romance to give spice to the mix. Once you read The Dead Game, you will never look at a dead body the same way.
In Book Two, Prey for The Dead, the suspense continues as The Dead use an exclusive club in Disney World and infiltrate the rich and famous. The Dead grow in power, and not even the sun or the swamps of Florida can weaken them. Linda–my main character–and her friends join with the human vampires or hybrids to defeat the evil forces threatening to control their town.
I hope you enjoy my books. The third book of The Dead Game Series is waiting for me to write.

Hi. My name is Susanne Leist. I am the author of The Dead Game series.
What’s the story behind the title?
The Dead Game series takes place in the fictional setting of Oasis, Florida. Oasis is nestled on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean with white sand and picturesque homes. Tourists visit for the warm weather and the fancy Oasis Hotel, which caters to the rich and famous. The nights bring another story. Dark shadows roam the streets while mysterious parties are held in the woods behind the town.
Why did you write this book?
My recent interest in the paranormal enticed me to write paranormal suspense in an exotic location. I wanted to combine suspense, mystery, and romance.
How do you keep the reader’s attention?
Readers won’t have time to let their attention wander. The action is non-stop. The twists and turns will keep them guessing to the bitter end.
How did you come up with this book idea?
My idea began with a deserted house. Lured to this mansion with a promise of a party, my main character, Linda, and her friends are confronted with traps and illusions. The story takes a supernatural turn once the residents who keep hidden during the day appear after dark and a dead body washes ashore. I didn’t know I would be entering the paranormal realm until my characters did.
What publishing elements do you most enjoy and most like to avoid, and why? (e.g., design, marketing, formatting, etc.)
I love writing and marketing. Editing is done along the way. I am always making changes and editing. After the book is completed, I use professional help for further editing and formatting.
What’s next on your writing journey?
I finished writing the second book in the series. I’m still editing. Soon I will forward it to an editor.
Where would my audience find your book?
My book is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble in e-book and paperback.
“Life goes on, But how can I?” Lost in her suffering in a town of despair, Linda knows not how to release herself from here.
She gazes out at the big bright moon, Knowing full well what it will bring soon. “Please save us from the evil forces at bay. We can’t live through this for even one more day. Will this night be the same as all the rest, Fleeing through the night at someone’s behest?
Will we ever be safe again in our beds, To lie down asleep and rest our weary heads?
I see the light in the distance. We can offer no resistance.
They are here for us all. This night the town will fall.”
Todd had somehow backed her against a tall tree on the deserted walkway. She couldn’t move back and if she moved forward, well…Todd’s large, muscular body was blocking the way.
They stood in the tree’s cool shade, colorful leaves falling all around them. They were staring into each other’s eyes; each one was afraid to make the first move. Todd finally moved closer, encircling her and giving her the long, heartfelt kiss that she’d been waiting for—for a very long time.
She couldn’t believe that he was holding and kissing her. His mouth was soft and hard at the same time—pulling her deeper and deeper into his world of heightened feelings. When he touched her, she felt somehow different—not herself anymore. He took total control of her mind and her body. It felt unbelievably good, but scary at the same time. She still wasn’t sure that she was ready to give up her freedom to be under Todd’s control.
He was staring down at her—as if trying to commit her face to memory. He caressed her eyelids with his lips. Then his warm lips moved down her face to her mouth once more. She shivered in delight. Who knew that he could be so gentle and caring?
The kisses grew ardent, but her mind remained focused on the way he had been memorizing her features. Why? Was he going away? Was there something he wasn’t telling her? Of course, there was—he and his friends were always keeping secrets. She didn’t know if she could trust him. But damn, he was a good kisser. And he was beautiful: his big brown eyes had those long lashes that any woman would die for; she loved his cleft chin and his finely chiseled features.
She ran her fingers through his soft, curly brown hair. But she had to be able to trust him—with her life if need be. His lips were trailing down her neck, down her chest, ending at the deep V of her neckline. He was licking her skin, causing her limbs to tremble. She felt warmth flowing down her body, awakening her nerve endings with the sudden unexpected thrill. She threw her head back and softly moaned.
He groaned in response, his playful tongue reversing in direction, picking up speed until it reached her mouth once again. Then he descended upon her with his lips; his warm mouth, which was molding itself to hers. His whole body was molding itself to hers until she felt as one with him. She was falling into his embrace.
