BLOOD RED

BLOOD RED

The wavering reflections of the red sky

mar the blue surface of the ocean.

The sun sets for the night,

hiding its face behind puffy clouds.

The sky reaches into its bag of tricks,

bringing out a yellow moon.

The water remains blood red

as the sky turns inky black.

A reflection from its depths

of the evil creatures rising.

Onto our crisp white shores they walk,

Leaving bloody footprints in the sand.

FREE FALL THROUGH SPACE

What does it feel like?

To free fall

through the air.

To let yourself go

to the feeling.

To step back and jump.

Nothing but air

until you hit the water.

To believe in yourself.

To believe in the water

to cushion your fall.

Freedom.

An escape from life.

An escape from reality.

What does it feel like?

I’ll let you know

after I hit the water.

SECRETS OF THE OCEAN

The ocean holds secrets.

Darkness beneath its depths.

Creatures waiting to rise up.

The waves bring them closer.

Figures beneath the ripples.

A hand reaching for my feet.

I’m sinking into the sand.

The hand pulls me into the water.

I can’t keep my head up.

Strong arms lift me from behind.

And we swim to shore.

I look up into dark brown eyes.

Todd’s eyes.

He saved me.

The waves flow away.

Taking the evil with them.
