A PLACE OF FANTASY

A place of fantasy there must be,
where blues and green merge in the deep sea.

Clouds create formations into works of art,
resembling soft cotton balls splitting apart.

I raise my face to the sunshine of the day,
the rays shooting sparks as they frolic and play.

The sand is soft beneath my feet,
warming my body with its heat.

Come with me and enjoy the dazzling sun,
we’re sure to have fun till the day is done.

PINK SAND

PINK SAND

The sand so pink and soft
Keeps my spirits aloft.
The water so clear and blue,
I want to enjoy that too.
Sun brightening the day,
All I want to do is play.

ILLUSION

A place of illusion.

Windswept nights.

Are your eyes deceiving you?

Has a waterfall appeared

where once stood a beach?

A river to replace an ocean.

Anything is possible.

If you believe in it.

TICKLE MY TOES

TICKLE MY TOES

They tickle my toes.

They line up in rows.

Oh! What can they be?

A starfish or three?

The water has a pink shine.

Too many colors to rhyme.

Red for my long, long hair.

Orange fish who swim near.

Yellow for the rays of the sun.

Blue for the water that’s so fun.

I can stay here the whole day.

The seagulls have come to play.

The birds circle around me.

Yes! It’s the best place to be.

ALONE WITH NATURE

A PURPLE TREE

MY PERFECT FANTASY

I walk through the soft sand.
Dip my toes into the ocean.
The cold water soothes me.
The sun hits my face.
The salty breeze ruffles my hair.
A perfect paradise.
Until I feel the pressure.
A hand tugs my leg.
It’s time to leave my perfect fantasy.
Life has a way of interfering.
A demon rises from the ocean.
Clothing drips from its fingers.
I know what it is.
It’s the demon of laundry.
An ever-present and growing demon.
Will a stack of dishes be next?
Goodbye demons.
I’m going back to my fantasy.
I see dolphins swimming by the shore.
See you later.

PEBBLES IN THE OCEAN

Pebbles drift in the ocean

in multitudes too many to count.

I yearn for the dark sea

as it holds mystery for me.

I will join these pebbles,

one more to their endless journey,

where I may find answers

to questions unspoken.
