BLUE MIDNIGHT

A midnight so dark and blue.
It’s coming for me and you.
The tides are rising to a new height,
While fighting the shore with all their might.

The clear skies are dark blue.
The clouds are far and few.
The darkness brings us shadows and fears,
And people running away in tears.

I’ve heard about The Dead.
They fill my heart with dread.
It’s time to hide from death.
No time to take a breath.

HE’S HERE

Prey for The Dead Book IILightning moving

What if Wolf isn’t dead?

Will he return to Oasis, Florida?

Will he bring an army?

The ground shakes.

Waves rise.

Thunder echoes through town.

Lightning flashes hot.

Leaves fall from trees.

Birds flee for their lives.

He’s here.

PREY FOR THE DEAD

NIGHT

Dark water.
Night comes slowly.
Footsteps fall softly.
A cat meows.
Footsteps move closer.
I see no one.
A sharp noise by the garbage can.
A splash in the water.
Footsteps resonate louder.
An oar hits the water.
Chains rattle.
I turn around.
A flash of light.
The footsteps halt.
Into the light drifts a gondola.
My true love holds a red rose.
The perfect end to the day.

THE PARTY

A luxury yacht sails the ocean.

Aboard are many guests,

Dressed in jewels and ball gowns.

Champagne flows freely.

Music fills the night air.

Bodies fall into the water,

Some are swimming,

And some are not.

Blood trickles into the water,

Covered by the moon’s shadow.

Cries increase in tempo

Until silence sweeps the dark ship.

HELP

FALLING
I climb down from a great height
As I fight with all my might.
The creatures swipe hard at me
As I climb down to the sea.
I must escape this dark place
As demons fly in my face.
They fly through the sky
And hit me from up high.
Who are these...

FALLING

I climb down from a great height

As I fight with all my might.

The creatures swipe hard at me

As I climb down to the sea.

I must escape this dark place

As demons fly in my face.

They fly through the sky

And hit me from up high.

Who are these demons from hell?

Their features I cannot tell.

I fall to the rocks below.

“Help” is all I can bellow.

THE DEEP

THE DEEP

The water sparkles.

A bottomless pit.

Shadows of tree limbs

drift along its murky surface.

It snatches pieces of debris

on its journey down river.

Rocks, branches, leaves…

fall into its dark abyss.

Something is moving.

A hand.

Reaches for me.

An inky black hand.

What should I do?

Wait.

Two arms.

A dark figure

emerges from the water.

Too big to be human.

It’s facing me.

It doesn’t have eyes.

A dark shadow,

dripping inky slime.

It roars.

It walks toward me.

I want to run.

I want to hide.

But I can’t.

My feet are stuck to the ground.

More roaring sounds.

More creatures are rising.

Is this real?

Am I dreaming?

All becomes quiet.

No roaring.

What happened?

“What are you doing?”

I turn around.

I’m standing in front

of the TV screen.

My friends stare back at me.

I’m blocking a horror movie.

I feel embarrassed.

I feel myself being hit

by popcorn.

Another Saturday night.

Kingdom Hearts

Can you feel your heart beating?

Is it beating too fast?

Do you feel trapped?

That is because you are.

You’re standing in a pool of water,

in the basement of End House,

wearing your party clothes.

But there is no party, no host and no guests.

The door behind you locks shut.

The only way is forward,

through the falling cages

with their sharp edges,

ready to ensnare their next victim.

Circular saws begin to descend,

looking for heads to slice off.

Run!

Run for your life!

The owner of End House takes no prisoners.
