AN UNDERCURRENT OF EVIL

halftimeprincess:

Guests dance

between frozen statues.

Statues of ice.

Sad expressions for eternity.

Tears flow on frosty cheeks.

Beneath the music and gaiety

lies an undercurrent of evil.

Time to leave this cold paradise

and escape, if one can.

Escape this deadly game

of The Dead.

SHE HAUNTS ME

Glass figures adorn the house.
Quiet as a sleeping mouse.
Do they wake with the sun
To have some bit of fun?
This one is on a bed
With a hat on her head.
Were her eyes once brown?
Do they haunt the town?
I must get of this place.
I can still see her...

Glass figures adorn the house.

Quiet as a sleeping mouse.

Do they wake with the sun

To have some bit of fun?

Were her eyes once brown?

Do they haunt the town?

I must leave this place.

I can see her face.

She will haunt my nights.

So will the dead sights.

A BIT FEY

I walk with the living at day.

They do not hear I word I say.

They assume I’m alive like them,

But I’m stronger than any men.

I run through the trees,

Flying faster than bees.

At day, my true self hides away.

People believe I might be fey.

At night, I walk with others.

Closer to me than brothers.

“Who are you?” you might timidly ask.

Be careful, I’ll take you to the task.

THE DEAD GAME SERIES

EVIL TWIN

Nomad

The light beckons to me,

Calls from deep in the sea.

I’m tempted you can see.

I do want to be free.

I step inside,

Nowhere to hide.

The walls move in.

It’s dark as sin.

A door opens right before me

To a sky as clear as can be.

People walk the streets.

Music throbs and beats.

It’s a town that resembles mine

With picturesque streets looking fine.

My friend stops to wave and walks to me.

I turn my gaze to the sand and sea.

How can this be?

This town can’t be.

A copy of my town.

I cannot help but frown.

As friends join the first,

My mind threatens to burst.

I can’t handle another dream.

It’s not as nice as it may seem.

My town has deadly powers buried inside

And now has an evil twin to join its side.

I cannot handle this anymore.

I had more than enough blood and gore.

The story continues in book two.
