NOTE:
These are the most random Qs I could find and come up with, but it is to show readers how authors are just like them or maybe so different that they are their own species. I have several awesome authors already lined up, but don’t let it scare you to take part though. I’ll be sharing with you all; the answers to the set questions and introduce you to some awesome people, and later, all of this will be used in a statistical type blog. Hopefully, we can keep this going for as long as possible and gain as many author’s inputs to make this thing grow.
But it doesn’t stop there:
~If you are an author who is interested in taking part in this silly game of mine; message, email or find me on a social network.
~If you are a reader and wanna take part; do the same and become part of the fun. (It’ll be really cool to have your stats as well.)
~If you are none of the above…ag, shame. Anyway, if you are an artist, a doctor, a barista or just randomly ended up here; bring it on and we can have a little fun when the stats have grown.
Susanne Leist
Morning person or night owl?
I am definitely a night owl. I find myself awake until 3:00 morning, writing and reviewing. I love the quiet.
Coffee, tea or neither?
I’m an avid coffee drinker. I average about 3 cups a day.
EBooks or printed books?
I love the printed book. I love holding it in my hands. Breathing in its unique smell. Give me a paperback any day over an ebook.
Bookmark or dog-ear pages?
I always bookmark even if I don’t intend to keep the book. I want it looking pristine and clean for the next reader.
Extrovert or Introvert?
I’m an introvert. A watcher of people and human nature. I search out people’s eyes. The truth lies in the eyes.
Secret talents? If so, what are they?
I perform best under pressure. I can make the important and difficult decisions when needed.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
I would love to live forever like a vampire. To live through the centuries.
What is your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is dying.
You have three wishes, what are they?
1. Health and happiness for my family, including my animals.
2. I would love to be a best selling author.
3. To be remembered with fondness when I’m gone.
If you could forever break one habit, what would it be?
I love to shop. Handbags are my biggest weakness. But I don’t really want to break this habit.
Your favourite:
Colour – Purple
Animal – Maltese dog
Mythical Creature – Vampire

Procrastination method – I’m not a procrastinator. I like to do things right away to get them out of the way.
Turn on or turn off
Accents – Love British accents.
Surprises – Love
Shyness – Turn on
Quiet Places – Love
Loud Places – Sometimes, not usually.
Dimples – Adorable

Scars – Nope
Games – No game playing, except for my book.
Comic Books – Loved them when I was younger.
What is your motto?
“If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.”
Interesting interview! I find it fascinating how people still prefer paperback books to ebooks. Even authors of ebooks! LOL.
I think I have over 2000 ebooks on my kindle, and I collect more weekly, so I always have a kindle app-device handy to read on my downtime.
But, for favorite novels, I will go get that paperback or hardback. So I understand.

E-books don’t have that heavenly paper smell. Nothing is like opening a book for the first time.

Thanks. Thumper has my back. I believe he’s the one who had first said it.

Night owl-check. Coffee-check. Introvert-check. Lots of similarities, but games. I do love games. Fun interview!

Thanks. I do my best writing in the wee hours. I just have to be careful that I don’t also shop.

I gave whatever came to me first. That is how I write my posts. And then I check for typos. If I think too much before I write, it comes out stiff.

Thank you. It was fun.

Interesting interview, but why soft rock?

I should’ve said rock. I just don’t like hard rock. I like to hear the words of a song over the music.

I really like that you’ve included is one has a motto! Nice! Now I gotta think if I even have one! Do I need one? But I “want” one. Okay. Then I need to figure mine out – thanks Susanne for the self-insight push 🙂

It’s always been motto. I hurt pretty easily when people say mean things. At first I had thought it was Dumbo who had said it. But it was Thumper!

I like Thumper 🙂
I hurt too. I think we all do, when other folk are mean. We just choose or can’t help responding certain ways, depending.
Discounting when trying to prevent someone from hurting themselves or someone else critically, and almost anything that’ll work is worth considering, there really isn’t much need to be mean. 🙂
I think that’s why such disparate people as John F Kennedy and Ronald Reagan appealed to so many. They respected who they interacted with, including their enemies.

Some people are thinkers while other speak without thinking. That’s why I’ve found so many friends among writers. You being one of them.

I’m happy to hear that and so is my rabbit, Thumper. I actually have a dwarf rabbit called Thumper.

That sounds so cute! A dwarf rabbit 🙂 I think our 3 yr old grandson might call him/her Thumpie 🙂

Thumper is small but mean. He bit my Maltese’s ear. Now my dog runs out of the room when we take Thumper out of his cage. He’s jealous that the dog is free all the time and sleeps in my bed. Do you want a rabbit?

Oh..no! Esp that one, lol! Def a “thumper” and not a thumpie 🙂 But pets are wonderful, so much like kids 🙂

I know. I did them quickly without my usual overthinking.

Secret power? I can belly dance. Dog? Border Collie. Movie? Pan’s Labyrinth. Motto? I’ll have a Manhattan, please (I guess that’s not a motto, but close enough). Nice answers – these are fun.

I agree. It’s fun to be spontaneous. It’s easier on the computer than face to face.

It’s fun sometimes to do these silly questionnaires. It’s useful for breaking the ice in new relationships.

I think these kind of interviews get old pretty fast though. Maybe because I tend to be a very private person, but I’ve never cared if my favorite author likes coffee or tea. I much rather read what drew them to a particular character in their book.

If you understand the author better, then you could see why they wrote what they did. You would be able to see me in my character Linda.

Fun game! And I agree with a few of your answers… my husband calls me a night owl (he’s currently asleep on the sofa, I’m sitting at the computer thinking I should go to bed as I have to be up for the school run in the morning)

I know the feeling. I love the quiet of the night when everyone else is sleeping, even the dog.

The best way to know an author (and a person) is to ask random simple questions. Here you are! Brilliant!

Thanks. I sat down and wrote the answers as they came to my mind. If I think too much about them, then they aren’t as spontaneous.

Nice blog post, Susanne. I love getting to know the person behind the name. From your answers, it sounds as though we share several personality traits (introvert, lack of procrastination, performing under pressure, pizza, reading in bed, I could go on and on),
