A masquerade ball.
One of my favorite events.
Hidden behind disguises,
people reveal more.
More than they should.
They will dance and drink the night away.
Swaying to the music.
Bodies relaxing.
Tongues loosening. be a fly on the wall.

I will wear my mask and heels.
A long silky dress.
A smile on my face.
I’m ready for adventure.
Who shall I pick?

The man surrounded by beauties.
The man sitting sullenly by the bar.
Or the man observing everyone
from a distance.
I choose him.

He’s looking over at me.
Is that a wink for me beneath his mask?
He is tall, dark, and handsome.
My perfect type.
Who is he?
I don’t care.
He’s all mine for this evening.

I want to go to a masquerade ball. I just need an invite. I could always have one in my second book.
